Vajrapani (Tib. Sang-way dag) represents the power aspect of complete enlightenment, the ability to enter into any situation, no matter how uncompromising, and transform it into a path of spiritual fulfillment.  He is called the Lord of Secrets - the keeper of the all the tantras. Vajrapani looks wrathful, but as a representation of the enlightened mind, he's completely free from hatred.
